Getting Ready

The voice left the bedroom, rounded the corner, barreled down the hall and found me in the living room, "What's going on?"
"Cleaning out the car", I yelled in reply.
I'd spent the day Cleaning out an empty condo in Imperial Beach and had to take everything with me: vacuum, steamer, broom and dustpan, supplies, folding chair, mini Bose speaker, and water bottles. So it took awhile. And soon I'd be filling it up again for my road trip.
"I bought you something!" This time the voice found me in my bedroom. The other spinster sister believes you can't take a road trip without something new so while I was cleaning, she was shopping for me. I gleefully grabbed the bag from her bed and ran back to my room to begin the fashion show: A dress, a couple shirts, a sweater.....
Two of them were perfect and after thanking her profusely, I began packing the car. Pillows and mini comforter. Check. Mini fan, extension cord and chargers. Check. Water bottles and wine. Check. Kindle and crossword puzzles. Check. Meds and makeup. Check. Suitcase filled with summer clothes. Check. CDs. Check. Miscellaneous. Check.
The tires are new, the tank is full...
